Retro Inspired Happy Birthday

We're back from Up North and we have plenty of mosquito bites to show for it. We did some water skiing and boating. The weather was cooler than it was at home - so it was pretty nice. We saw lots of wildlife - foxes, weasels, snakes, turtles, fish, and deer. It's good to be back home. Today, I am planning to do the mountain of laundry that we brought back with us and do some prepping for our house guests that will be arriving on Thursday. Mom and Dad will be spending a couple of nights with us as they get their new home in order.
Here's a retro inspired happy birthday card. I used a variety of products including 7 Gypsies tape, a Tim Holtz journaling tag, a graphic from a Graphic45 paper, background paper by Graphic45 and a swatch of fabric from those upholstery books I snagged.

I'm enjoying some music from my Mac today by logging into my Pandora account. If you've never tried it, Pandora is a website that you can go to and create your own personalized radio station by selecting artists or songs that you like.
I'm planning to scrap the pictures of our trip later this week. Hopefully, I'll have some fun layouts to share.
Have a great Tuesday!

Thanks with Strawberries on Top

Strawberries always make me think of summer. Maybe that's because they taste the sweetest at this time of the year.
I'm still channeling the Red, White, & Blue color scheme. I made this thank you greeting using a few different products. The red patterned background is from Graphic45. The text paper at the bottom is from GCD Studios. I added a little bit of sewing around the strawberry image and to hold the text "ruffle" on the card. The "Thanks" sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink.

Happy Thursday! Hope you're having a great week.

Happy 62, Dad!

Today is my dad's 62nd birthday! We had a low-key celebration last night. My mom and dad are in the middle of a move. The last time they moved was almost 30 years ago! Their closing is on July 9th. So, because basically EVERYTHING is packed, we took some brats over and grilled out.
Here is the card I made for my dad. I used some Studio Calico paper and also cut out the "6" and "2" from a SC graphic sheet. I also used papers from Graphic45 and GCD Studios. And, what masculine card would be complete without a little Tim Holtz black soot ink?

Happy Monday!
