Hello Autumn

Fall is here in the Midwest. Today it was about 60 degrees accompanied by a brisk wind. I've got my mums planted. We'll see how long they last.
The spiders are still spinning their webs. Maybe they're getting ready for Halloween...

Poor little Cricket...

Poor Cricket. Every Fall, she has this terrible allergy to the grass. I don't know what it is...In Illinois, the grass gives off this reddish fungus stuff (yep, I know, pretty gross.) Anyway, Cricket constantly licks her paws because it irritates her skin. But, I found a solution...

They are these little balloon-like booties that you can put on. They are reusable and we're giving them a try.

Incase you're wondering, Cricket is not a fan.

Happy Tuesday!

Toby Keith/Trace Adkins Concert

We went to the Toby Keith/Trace Adkins concert over the weekend. It was fun. The weather was great.

And, fall is here and the tv lineup is new. "Castle" is back - and the first episode was good. Although I could have used a re-cap because I had kinda forgotten the ending of last season. I DVR'd "The Forgotten" with Christian Slater and "Grey's" also returns this week.
Have a great day!

Sunrise this morning

Just a quick post. I took pics of the sunrise this morning on the way to work. It was a little foggy, so it was one of those where you can look directly at the sun.
Enjoy.

Long Grove, IL - A Girl's Trip

My mom and I took a girl's trip to Long Grove, IL. It was fun to shop and just spend some quality time together.

It was a perfect day to be out and about. All the shops are in quaint, old houses that have been transformed into the downtown commercial district.

Home accents, jewelry, purses and furniture filled almost every store.

My favorite was Oliva's Past. She had a lot of handmade stuff from people who sell on Etsy. It was fabulous. I did a lot of damage here.

Triathlon 09

A few weeks ago, Carson participated in the Naperville Sprint Triathlon. He did really well finishing in just over 1 hour, 16 minutes. It is a 400 m swim, a 13 mile bike and a 3.2 mile run.
The swim was done at Centennial Beach.

All set to go. Pre-race nerves are non-existent!
It was one of the hottest days of the year, but there was a beautiful sunrise.
Entering the transistion area for a final check and to leave off the shoes.

Exiting the swim

Onto the bike-
Here's our friend Andy flying down the road. I think it was all in the helmet.
Transitioning to the run

Crossing the finish line

Celebrating with Andy on the Finish
